Our Mission

The Sports Medicine Track (SMT) has been developed to provide education, research, training, and exposure in the field of primary care sports medicine beyond that of the residency core curriculum. By completing the SMT, residents will develop a strong foundation in sports medicine in preparation for fellowship.

Residents enrolled in the Sports Medicine Track will:

1.    Participate in structured and intensive training in the areas of musculoskeletal, trauma, and primary care medicine as it pertains to athletes.
2.    Act as a team physician for Miami High Schools and U Miami Club Sports with the possibility to provide mass event coverage and Division 1 NCAA sports.
3.    Complete on-site clinical exposure in Sports Medicine Clinics with longitudinal mentoring by sports medicine faculty
4.    Pursue scholarly activity in sports medicine and present at national conferences
5.    Provide mentorship to the medical student Sports Medicine Interest Group
